coronavirus-and-tourism

Tourism is one of the major sectors that is adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The growing prevalence of corona and the ever-increasing lockdown have hit the tourism sector hard. The businesses of hotels, resorts, transporters, travel companies, travel portals, travel agents have come to a complete standstill.

It is difficult to say when the tourism business will return to normal. But definitely, once the vaccine on Covid-19 is available and the situation is back to normal, the first thing that will come to mind is tourism. The reason for this is very simple and clear.

Fear of corona and lockdowns forced people to stay at home for a long period of time, which has hampered the employment of many working class people. Some have jobs but no salary while few others receive only half the salary. Many are suffering from the financial crisis.

In such a situation, people will not have enough money to spend on a new house, car, gold, land, etc. Eventually, people will think of a leisure trip, no matter how small or big as a change or a break. In this way, the tourism business will gradually begin to recover.

There may be a possibility that both tourists and tourism companies need to be careful about certain things. Hoteliers in particular need to be very vigilant. Hygiene, sanitation, record of guest’s body temperature, doctor on call service etc. must be strictly observed.

Tourists might also need to get a fit certificate from their family doctor before starting the journey and a copy of which may require to submit to the travel company as well as at the hotel check-in. Although the government has not yet issued any regulations in this regard.

The post covid19 pandemic, there are possibilities of many restrictions on the tourism business. In conclusion, tourism business may expect to flourish once again post pandemic.
